Description
This painting took almost a year to complete and was painted on an A3 canvas. Initially this artwork was very difficult to start simply because I couldn’t decide which art style should be in this artwork.
Like my other artworks this one started with a rough sketch but only of the woman in the middle of the artwork. After the sketch was completed it was painted to completion using an acrylic pain and for the shading a 2B pencil was used. The blue make up was made using blue and black permanent markers and the colour of the eye was made using watercolour paint. Next was the white border splitting the artwork into different parts, it was made using white acrylic paint and outlined with a black permanent marker. Next was the background that was made using watercolour paints. Next was the five smaller spaces behind the woman in the middle. Each one of these were painted in a different style, starting from the bottom first. The first one was painted with a layer of orange and yellow paint first and after it dried, black paint was used to paint Samoan style tattoo patterns. The second one was painted using a blue paint marker and after it dried, a fine liner pen and a permanent Parker was used to make random round and sharp patterns. The third patterns was made using a acrylic paint, watercolours, a paint marker and a fine liner, mountains were painted using purple paint and outlined with the fine liner, the background colour used was lavender acrylic paint and the clouds were painted using a pink paint marker. The fourth one was make using acrylic paint, the background colour was made with maroon paint and black paint was used to add a little depth to the colour, white acrylic paint was used to make a simple vine pattern with a few lines of dots to the pattern. The fifth and final was painted with a white background using acrylic paint and a red paint was used to make continent shaped patterns, then a 2B pencil was used to add shading on the red patterns. After all the patterns were finished a black permanent marker was used to make an outline around all the patterns. Finally the woman at the bottom left of the canvas was sketched and then painted the same way as the other one, with the make up changed and long black hair painted with a space background, the starts were painted with white acrylic paint.
