This artwork is one of my latest favourite, portrait-type, paintings. (With permission) The reference photo is an amazing watercolour artist’s baby boy, named Sebastian. When I saw this picture, I was absolutely in love with this picture. I could see the potential for a great painting. The grey-ish-colour, the way the light and shadows fell just perfectly on his little face, the fine hairs on his cheeks, the sparkle in his eyes.
This was a truly inspired piece of artwork.
The choosing of the frame is to complement the painting. And this frame does a very successful job. The thin silver inner-frame really brings out the lighter tones, don’t you think?
