Description
Slack line is a masterful and surreal exploration of power, destiny, and the fragile connections that bind us. A colossal, weathered face with wings hangs in the sky, an ancient, god like entity whose expression is both weary and omniscient. From this being, fine lines, slack, but ever present, rain down upon a miniature world, tethering swimming fish and influencing the tiny figures below.
Rademeyer brilliantly captures a sense of immense scale and quiet authority. The work questions the nature of control: is this being a benevolent guardian or a tired puppet master? The title itself suggests a delicate balance, a connection that could tighten or break at any moment, leaving the world below to its own devices.
