Bernice Joubert: Charcoal Artist

Bernice Joubert is a talented self-taught charcoal artist from South Africa, whose work beautifully captures the divine and nostalgic essence of African wildlife. Growing up traveling throughout Africa with her family, Bernice developed a deep connection to the continent’s rich landscapes and diverse creatures. This lifelong passion for African wildlife is at the heart of her artwork, where each piece conveys both a love for nature and a personal expression of its beauty.

Throughout her artistic journey, Bernice’s work has focused on creating stunning pieces that evoke the timeless spirit of Africa’s wild places. Charcoal allows her to create depth and intensity, mirroring the powerful and intricate details she observes in nature. For Bernice, drawing is not just an artistic pursuit but a way to preserve and share the incredible wildlife and scenery that has always inspired her.

After the birth of her two beautiful sons, Bernice was able to take a step back from the demands of everyday life to stay home and focus on raising her children. This precious time also rekindled her artistic passion, and she returned to drawing with renewed energy and dedication. Although Bernice is a self-taught artist, her talent and natural ability to capture the beauty of her surroundings have earned her admiration and respect in the artistic community.

Outside of her art, Bernice is happily married to a wonderful man, and together, they are raising their two children in a nurturing, creative environment.
