In the quiet heart of Pretoria East,  Simoné Labuschagne returns to her first love, art. A multidisciplinary artist whose hands speak fluently in charcoal, acrylic, pencil and pen, Simoné’s work is a testament to the divine intricacy of creation. Her pieces are not merely representations; they are reflections of the sacred, each line and shadow honouring the ultimate Artist, her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

From a young age, Simoné’s gift was evident. Self-taught in spirit and formally trained in technique, she passed her high school art class with distinction, laying the foundation for a practice that is both intuitive and intentional. Her artistic journey, however, has not followed a straight path. As a full-time criminologist, she once set aside her brushes, but the call of creation proved irresistible. Today, she returns with renewed purpose, her charcoal pencils now dancing once more across paper with reverence and resolve.

Simoné’s work centres on the human form, particularly the face and hands, those expressive vessels of emotion and connection.
