Duane Venter is a self taught artist born in Benoni Gauteng South Africa in 1979. From an early age drawing was one of his favourite hobbies. The aspect of creating realism copies of his subject always facinated him. Back in those days it was cartoon caracters like Mickey Mouse and such.
During his lifetime art came and went, sometimes for years in between.
It was in 2013 that he finally touched ground with reality and started focussing on his pencil drawings. this was the time he moved from Gauteng to Mapumalanga. More specific, Komatipoort. A small town next to the famous Kruger National Park and bordering Mozambique.
Here, his pasion for wildlife grew. He is fasinated with all the creatures there and quicly found his favourite animals as can be seen in his work. t
The leopard and elephant became his area of interest.
Along with challenges of broadening his field, pencil was always the go to medium. Slowly he began using charcoal. Took some time to master the messy material. but he prevailed. Between all this learning painting with oils was another challange, always trying but with no luck.
Only in 2022 that he finally grasped the idea of oil painting. Today he creates some of the most realistic artworks available. The attension to detail can easily be seen in his work op to the point that some art lovers has suggested that they can see the sucjects soul in the artwork.
He has sold hundreds of oilpaintings and charcoal art in numerous counties worlwide today. From U.K, USA to Japan and Denmark to name a few.
